Frye ‘Veronica’ Black Boots

Black Mid Calf Boots

We’re often asked to recommend a particular brand of footwear that we especially like. In doing so, one shoe maker always comes to mind, particularly if we want top grade craftsmanship and materials.  Let’s take a look at just one of their many fine products.  The Frye ‘Veronica Shortie’ boots are a perfect example of quality and style.  While not quite what we would call a true mid calf boot, it is not a bootie or ankle boot either, so we’ll settle on the mid or medium calf terminology.  It has an 8 inch high shaft that will come up to the middle of some women’s legs and lower on others.  Of course it all depends on your general height.  Some women reviewed these and found them to be a good match for their jeans.

However, others commented that they did not work well when they wore boot-cut jeans.  Most agreed that they liked the look when paired with skirts or leggings.  Before we move on, we want to comment on how much we like the huge selection of colors offered here.  We like the burnt red Fry boots, but black is always a good basic to have in your closet.  Also available are brown, olive and navy blue.

The Frye ‘Veronica’ mid calf boots are made with a thick sole and 1 inch heels.  The broad, wide rounded toe really shows off the rich colors.  And the leather on this style is softer and more pliable compared to the Fry’s Harness models.  Did we mention how soft the leather is.  Feels great on your feet and calf muscles.  And even if you have large calves, these black Frye Veronica boots provide an excellent fit.
